Nature

A place Children will always hold dear in their hearts and often revisit as Adults.

Fall Registration 2023/2024

School year starts September 5th and ends May 31st.

We welcome starseeds ages 2 to 11 years old! With many program options for grade levels and schedule. We have become a vendor with Blue Ridge Academy. If you are with a different charter school feel free to reach out and we'd be happy to become a vendor with them as well.

Our Philosophy

Our emergent curriculum is child-centered, interest-led, inquiry driven, and educator supported. The natural curiosity of children can thrive here and imagination takes flight while they learn to care for themselves, each other, and the land. In our Forest School we emphasize creative expression through present natural materials and materials we provide (non-invasive to the natural space) based on interested and projects. We read books and talk about the animals, insects, plants, trees and other things we see.

Being in the natural world allows children to build a life-long relationship with

Nature

The Outdoor Classroom

We are passionate about providing children with opportunities to experience, explore and connect with the natural environment in Los Angeles' beautiful parks and natural habitats. Children learn at their own pace inspired by the wonder of nature and their friends.  Exploring new paths cultivate curiosity, flexibility, courage, and comradeship. Nature School LA understands the importance of standard-based learning. Therefore, our pedagogy consists of an immersive program that includes academic standards presented in a nature based environment so students can receive more open ended opportunities for learning.

Restore balance

Most kids have technology, school and extracurricular activities covered. It’s time to add a pinch of adventure, a sprinkle of sunshine and a big handful of  outdoor play.
